Meet Adrienne Kravchuk, Principal Designer and founder of Adrienne Kravchuk Interior Design! She brings more than 20 years of experience and an accomplished eye for timeless, elevated interiors. After years of working across the design industry, Adrienne established her own firm, creating a personalized approach rooted in thoughtful design, refined materials, and meticulous attention to detail.

From full-scale renovations and ground-up projects to styling & staging, Adrienne brings a fresh perspective to every space she creates. Her ability to balance beauty, functionality, and individuality results in interiors that feel sophisticated, intentional, and uniquely personal to each client.

We sat down for a Q&A on what inspires her and how the creative process begins. 

1. What brought you to the interior design field?

I think interior design found me when I was about seven or eight years old! I was obsessed with my dollhouses and creating little spaces, and I was constantly moving the furniture around in my own bedroom. Before I knew it, I was painting my girlfriends’ bedrooms and rearranging their furniture too!

Home has always been such a tender, special place for me. Even as a little girl, I understood how deeply our surroundings can affect the way we feel. Looking back, I really believe design was a calling for me from the very beginning.

2. Tell us about how you find inspiration.

So much of my inspiration comes from emotion and experience. When I travel somewhere beautiful—whether it’s the Hamptons, Europe, or somewhere completely new—I pay attention to how a place makes me feel. The architecture, the colors, the materials, the landscape, even the energy of a space stays with me.

I’m always thinking, How can I bring a little bit of this feeling home? I love translating those experiences into something special for my clients and into my own home.

3. How does this translate to your design process?

My design process is very personal. I connect with my clients on an emotional, heart-to-heart level because I want their home to tell their story—not mine.

I ask the real-life questions: Where does the Christmas tree go? Who cooks dinner? Where do the kids do homework? Where does everyone gather at the end of the day? How do you entertain? How do you want to feel when you walk through the door?

Those details matter so much to me. I want the beauty of the design to be defined by the people who actually live there and the life they want to create inside it.

4. Take us through a day-to-day operation at AKID.

Every day is different, which is part of what I love! I start by checking in with my team and cross-checking our deliverables and project timelines. From there, I’m making calls to clients, vendors and contractors, checking on projects, answering questions and providing updates.

Then I’m moving through design selections, reviewing drawings, sourcing materials and furnishings, and developing our design plans. And then… rinse and repeat! :)

There are always a million moving pieces, but I really try to move through all of it with gratitude. I never lose sight of how special it is that our clients trust us with their homes.

5. What do you consider when selecting hard surface materials?

Looks and aesthetics are number one for me—I want that immediate emotional reaction to something beautiful! From there, I consider performance and how the material needs to function for that particular client or family, and then, of course, budget.

The sweet spot is finding something that is beautiful, performs the way we need it to, and makes sense for the overall investment in the home.

6. Favorite stone or tile?

I’m a sucker for a classic Calacatta marble! I love it for countertops, tile—really anywhere I can use it beautifully. There is something so timeless and romantic about it.

I also love the look of a beautiful soapstone. Those rich, dark hues can be incredible in a moody kitchen or bathroom. So beautiful!

7. What design style or trend are you loving right now?

I’m loving all of the integrated metals and woods we’re seeing paired with countertop profiles right now. There are so many interesting ways to treat an edge or transition beyond the typical countertop profile.

Those little architectural details and unexpected material combinations can make something functional feel completely custom and special.

8. What current project are you excited about?

So many! Truly, every one of our projects and clients is special and wonderful in its own way. We have some incredibly beautiful projects underway right now, and I’m so excited to share more as they come to life!

9. Which interior designer would you hire to do your house?

Gahhh… I look up to so many incredibly talented designers! But for my dream home, hands down, I would hire Patrick Ahearn and his team. His work on the East Coast is just dreamy to me.

I can spend hours looking through his coffee-table books and saving his work to my Pinterest boards. There’s such a timelessness, romance and sense of home in everything he creates. I absolutely love it.

10. What are you up to when you’re not designing?

You can usually find me cuddling and playing with my doggies or spending time with my husband, my mom and my dear friends. Those relationships and simple moments mean everything to me.

I love trying new restaurants, going to the movies, traveling—and sometimes I’m happiest simply feeling the green grass under my toes and the sun on my face. :)
